ORDERING & SHIPPING

Where do you deliver?

We deliver nationwide throughout the lower 48 United States. For orders to Hawaii or Alaska, please contact support@santacarota.com so we can assist you directly.

‍Do you offer bundles or subscriptions?
Yes. We offer bundles and subscription options so you can stock up and savetime on re-ordering. Availability may vary by season and inventory.

‍Do you offer local pickup?
No. At this time, we do not offer local pickup. All online orders are shipped directly to you.

‍Can I buy Santa Carota Beef in stores or butcher shops?
At this time, our carrot-finished cuts are not currently available in stores or butcher shops, but we hope to offer that option again soon. In the meantime, you can order directly through our website.

‍How long does it take to ship my order?
Orders placed by Wednesday at 11:00 AM Central Time will ship the following Monday. Orders placed after the Wednesday cut off may be held until the next Monday shipping date.
‍
‍Who ships your orders?
All orders ship via UPS.

‍Why does my order ship from Texas and not California?
We raise, finish, and harvest our cattle in California, but we ship from Texas so we can deliver more efficiently across the U.S. Shipping frozen beef all the way from California to states like New Jersey and the East Coast can increase the risk of it arriving partially thawed. For that reason, our cold storage and shipping partner is based in Texas (and they are also a family-owned business).

‍How do I buy a whole, half, or quarter beef?
We offer whole, half, and quarter beef through our program in Santa Paula, California at Old Fashion Country Butcher. This is for local pickup only – located near Ventura, CA. To order immediately, contact Old Fashion Country Butcher at 805-933-3968. For other questions, contact support@santacarota.com.

‍What if my beef arrives with a broken package or is not frozen?
Please reach out to us immediately at support@santacarota.com so we can make your order right.

‍CATTLE & RANCH

Where are your cattle raised?
Our cattle are raised and finished on our ranch in Kern County, California - cattle are raised, finished, and harvested in California.

‍What does “carrot-finished” mean?
Our cattle are finished on a diet that includes upcycled carrots, along with grass from our pastures and Sudangrass hay.

‍What grade is your beef?
Our beef grades mostly Choice with occasional Prime and Select.

‍Are you a certified grass-fed program?
Yes. We remain within certified grass-fed guidelines while still finishing on carrots.

‍Do you use hormones or antibiotics?
We are hormone free and antibiotic free. Growth hormones are never used, and antibiotics are not used routinely. If an animal ever requires antibiotics to save its life, it is removed from our beef program and does not return to the beef herd.

Do you feed your cattle grain?
No. Our cattle are not grain-finished. They are finished on carrots and a forage-based diet (pasture grass and Sudangrass hay).

‍Do you give your cattlem RNA?
No. We do not give our cattle mRNA – Nor will we ever!

‍Where is your beef processed?
Our cattle are harvested and processed in California under USDA inspection at One World Beef in Brawley, California, a Temple Grandin-designed facility.
